Saturday 3pm to 7 pm; Sunday 10pm – 5am Monday

I have a real name, but everyone has adapted to calling me “Shinny” these days so I’ll spare you the boring details. Why Shinny? Well, some friends back in high school with a lack of creativity decided to hack off the last part of my last name, and it stuck. Seriously, when your friends’ parents, your college professors, and eventually your boss at work calls you by your nickname, adios birth name!

My radio journey starts in College at U-Maine in Orono, where I was talking sports with some kids one day, and somewhere we had a dawning that putting a microphone in front of us while we did so was a great idea. Through a series of circumstances, I stuck with radio through the years, found a love for country music, and here I am hanging out with YOU on WPOR Overnights!

When I’m not at the controls on WPOR, you can usually find me skiing in the winter, biking in the summer, or hanging out in front of some live music because I’m a live music junkie.

And I really don’t like seafood. OK don’t judge me! Not all Mainers are a fan of that stuff!
