Autopsy: Paul Walker died of trauma, burns

Actor Paul Walker died from traumatic and thermal injuries during a car crash in California on Saturday.

The “Fast & Furious” star perished when the driver of a Porsche Carrera GT he was a passenger in lost control of the vehicle and crashed in to a lamp post and a tree in Valencia, California.

The sportscar then burst into flames.

Walker and the driver, the actor’s friend and business partner Roger Rodas, died at the scene.

Autopsy results were released on Wednesday and it has been revealed that the two men could only be identified by their dental records.

Both deaths have been listed as accidental by the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.

Toxicology reports will be released in six to eight weeks.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Universal Pictures has shut down production of action sequel “Fast & Furious 7” to consider its options for the franchise following the death of actor Paul Walker, the studio said on Wednesday.

“At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on ‘Fast & Furious 7’ for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise,” Universal Pictures, a unit of Comcast Corp, said in a statement.
