Jewel's Disguise Fools Karaoke Crowd
Singer Jewel stunned fans at a club by taking to the microphone recently - she was dressed in a dowdy disguise to belt out her own songs for a comedy sketch.
The Who Will Save Your Soul star donned a fake nose, wig and glasses for the stunt - filmed for the Funny or Die website - in a Los Angeles karaoke bar.
Encouraged by her 'co-workers', Jewel's alter-ego Karen nervously took to the stage to sing the star's tracks - stunning onlookers who compared her to Susan Boyle.
She says, "I was a bit nervous to do this skit at first because I feared it would amount to little more than showing off some vocals, dressed as someone else. I was worried it wouldn't be self-effacing enough.
"This did not require much, as the costume did most of the work for me. I love improv and this was a small chance to do that, luckily as someone else. I would love to do more of it in the future."
