Writing a bio for yourself is a bit like writing your own obituary.  What do you write?  What do you omit?  What do you make sound better that it actually is?

I was born in 1965 in Richmond, Virginia.

My Dad was in the Air Force, so every few years, we packed up and moved.  I had been in every state except Alaska and Hawaii by the time I was 10 years old.  Traveling in the days before video games and iPods meant I saw a lot of this great country from the back of a pickup truck, with my 3 brothers and the collie all trying to "hold it" until the next rest stop.

Married?  Yes ... best decision I ever made.  Thank God Lori said "yes".
Two kids, Zachary and Spencer.  When Trace Adkins sings "You're Gonna Miss This", I know what he means.

Life is good.

I'm going to have to agree with Jon above that writing a bio is the worst thing ever but here it goes!

My name is Jake (obviously) and I'm an Orange County (you call it "The OC") native from southern California. I was always the class clown and made visits to the principal's office many many times. 5th grade was the point in my life where I decided that I had to be on the radio and make people laugh for a living.

I started radio as a traffic reporter in Los Angeles and from there had a bunch of radio and television producing jobs in LA, including producing the traffic for Ryan Seacrest's morning show. While I could have stayed in LA and just produced, it wasn't what I wanted to do in radio. So I moved on.

Before coming to Maine I worked for Froggy 101 in Scranton PA for 4 years (Yes, the same station that's on "The Office"). Not being a country fan when I first started, I grew to absolutely love and completely understand country. Now I don't think I'd be happy working for any other format.

On a personal level I'm engaged to my gorgeous fiance Tiffany and have an instant daughter Alyssa. I love my insta-family and can't think of life before them. Tiff and I are both giant hockey fans and I play ice hockey, as well as rec softball.  I love both!

It will take some time getting used to Maine, but it's absolutely gorgeous and I don't think I'll have any problems fitting in.

What's up with these guys? Writing a bio is the most fun EVER!

I have been a star in my own mind since birth.  I started doing shows in my backyard in Akron, Ohio before I could talk.  Then I graduated to shows in the livingroom.  Turns out my house couldn't not contain me, no matter how hard my mom tried.  I took my "show" to High School in Montville, N.J. where I was voted class clown.  In college at George Washington University while studying theater I started performing improv comedy and have been both doing and teaching both since.

I moved to Maine to be closer to my mom who retired here.  I thought I'd be staying a few months.  Nine years later I bought a house and am happy to call Maine my home.
